You must have a PayPal Business account to connect with the rezio platform. For information on the features available for a Business account and the required documents, you can go to the official PayPal website, select your country, and view the relevant information: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/country-worldwide

If you already have a Business Account, you can complete the connection and start using it in just a few simple steps.

    1. If the currency menu is not enabled, all products will be displayed according to the [Default Product Currency] you selected under [General] > [Regional Settings], and customers will not be able to switch to other currencies.

  1. If the currency menu is enabled, customers will be able to select their preferred currency and check out in that currency.

The 13 checkout currencies supported by PayPal include: USD, JPY, TWD, CAD, EUR, GBP, HKD, MYR, PHP, SGD, THB, AUD, NZD.

  • PayPal Payment Page

If a customer chooses to pay with PayPal, they can log into their own PayPal account or pay directly with a credit card.

  1. After a customer chooses to pay with PayPal and the payment page opens, they will see two buttons: PayPal and Credit Card.

  1. After clicking the PayPal button, a customer can log into their own PayPal account and select a linked payment method to make the payment.

Notes:
1. The credit card types that PayPal supports will depend on the customer's country. Merchants cannot specify which card types are accepted.
2. Regardless of whether a customer uses PayPal balance, a linked bank account, a credit card, or any other payment method, it will not affect the time it takes for the merchant to receive the funds or the transaction fees they are responsible for.

  • PayPal Transaction Record

If a customer pays with PayPal, you can find the customer's payment email address in the bottom-left corner of the Order Details > Payment Records tab. You can then use this email address to search for the corresponding transaction record in the PayPal backend.

  • Important Notes and FAQs

  1. To get a PayPal Business account, what document do you need? and typically how long does it take to complete the application?

The activation timeline for a PayPal Business account is broken down into a few steps:

  • Online Registration: This is where you fill in your basic company and personal information. This stage can be completed quickly.

  • Email Verification: This is where you fill in your basic company and personal information. This stage can be completed quickly.

  • Document Submission and Review: Once you're logged into your account, the system will guide you to upload the necessary verification documents (such as the applicant's proof of identity and business registration information). These are then submitted to PayPal's review team. This review process usually takes 3 to 5 business days, but the time can vary depending on the volume of cases and if your documents are complete and clear.

  • Linking a Bank Account: You can link your company's bank account while the documents are being reviewed. PayPal will deposit two small amounts into that account for verification. You'll need to log back into your PayPal account and enter those amounts once you see them. This process typically takes 1 to 3 business days.

When all your documents are complete and correct, it usually takes about 5 to 7 business days from registration until your account is fully activated and ready to use. If you have any questions, you can contact PayPal's customer service team for for more information.

Notes: We recommend applying for your account on the official website. Once it's activated, complete the linking process in the rezio backend.

When you click "Sign Up or Connect with PayPal" from the rezio Admin to apply for a business account, the system will continuously check your account status for 15 days. If you complete your account verification and activation after more than 15 days, or if you wish to change the linked account, please click this link to open the permissions settings page shown below :

Check the box for Rezio. The system will ask you if you want to revoke the permissions. Click "Yes" (Yes, revoke) to unbind the account.

After unbinding, your connection status in the rezio Admin will revert to [Unlinked] You can then click [Sign Up or Connect with PayPal] again to link a fully activated account.

  1. How to issue refund for PayPal?

Funds paid by customers via PayPal can be refunded from the rezio Admin backend from the original transaction date, from 0 to 179 days. There are no extra fees for a refund transaction, but the fee from the original transaction will not be returned.

After 180 days, customers can still initiate a dispute through the PayPal Resolution Center. At this point, you must handle the disputed funds through the PayPal backend, which may involve an additional dispute handling fee.

  1. What are the fees for using PayPal services?

The fees charged by the PayPal platform vary by your account's country. Always refer to the PayPal Merchant Fees or contact PayPal customer service directly for the actual rates.

  • Commercial Transaction Rates: The fee consists of a percentage-based Base Rate + Fixed Fee.

    • Base Rate: If the customer and merchant are from the same country, the domestic transaction rate applies. Otherwise, the international transaction rate applies.

    • Fixed Fee: This is charged based on the transaction currency.
Example: For a transaction in USD, a fixed fee of 0.3 USD is charged per transaction. For a transaction in Philippine Pesos, a fixed fee of 15 PHP is charged per transaction.

  • Currency Conversion: If you enable the currency menu on MySite for customers to check out using a foreign currency, a currency conversion fee will be generated.

Example: The product currency is USD, the customer pays in TWD, and your PayPal settlement currency (Primary Currency) is PHP.

  • If the original product price is USD 10 but the customer selects TWD on MySite, Rezio will convert this to TWD 299 based on the daily exchange rate for the customer to pay.

  • PayPal will first deduct the transaction fee from the TWD 299 amount. It will then use its official exchange rate (which includes a currency conversion fee) to convert the remaining balance to your collection currency, PHP.

The detailed breakdown of the above fees will be displayed on the rezio Admin Order Details > Payment Records tab:

  • Dispute Fees: After a customer successfully files a dispute, PayPal will charge an additional dispute fee based on the original transaction currency.

  • Withdrawals Out of PayPal: When you withdraw your PayPal account balance to your linked bank account, PayPal will charge a withdrawal fee based on the currency.

If the currency you are withdrawing is different from your bank account's currency (for example, withdrawing USD to a PHP bank account), an additional currency conversion fee will also be incurred.

You can find the link to the latest PayPal Merchant Fees at the very bottom of each country's official PayPal website.

  1. Where can I find the PayPal User Agreement documents?

You can view the official documents for each country on this webpage.
